Details: We are a progressive Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy under the Marcello C. Monteiro BJJ Coach International Association located in Tacoma, Washington. Our Tacoma Academy is the ONLY MCMBJJ Association in Washington State. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a highly effective martial art for men, women, and children from all walks of life. It relies on leverage, timing, and proper technique to overcome larger and stronger opponents. Our academy offers several different classes based on age and skill level so you can learn the art of BJJ at the right pace for you. Improve your overall health and fitness, learn self-defense, relieve some stress, and train to accomplish your personal goals. While Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a dominant force in MMA we pride ourselves on being a traditional BJJ Academy. While some fighters choose our academy to perfect their ground skills, we maintain a family environment that welcomes all students from the very young to the very old, from the most gifted professional fighter, to the professional business man or woman, to the very young child learning to gain coordination and strength.

Kids Program Detail: Our BJJ program is a progressive and reality-based style of self defense. This program has been specifically designed to help children 4-15 years old learn realistic self protection techiniques. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Martial Arts spirit becomes a truly indomidable weapon in confronting the unwanted advance of an attacker, and in addition the rigors of everyday life. For a child it provides the focus, concentration, confidence and determination to obtain ones' goals. Although it is the kids in the class, we understand enrollment is just as much the parent's. As a parent enrolling your child in martial arts, you will see many improvements in the first few lessons, both inside and outside of the academy.
