Kids Program Detail: Modern Martial Arts and Family Fitness offers Jiu-Jitsu for kids in two age groups. Our Little Warriors Program is for children four to eight. Class consists of an adequate warm-up, skill enhancing games, fundamental technique and supervised live sparring sessions. Little Warriors meet from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Junior Jiu-Jitsu is for youth aged nine to 15. The class closely resembles the adult class structure. Students perform fundamental drills as part of the warm-up. Lessons include multiple techniques per session to emphasize chaining attacks together. Students have more opportunity to engage in live sparring. Matches will be supervised to ensure safety. Junior Jiu-Jitsu meets from 6 to 7 p.m. Both groups may attend the 11 a.m. Saturday class.Parents with children in both age groups may allow the older child to participate in the early session. Younger children will not attend the later session. As teens develop skill and maturity, they may be invited to join the adult class.
