Details: Unified Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy was established in 2006 by a group of five Pedro Sauer black belts and friends who were among the pioneers of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu scene in the greater Salt Lake City Area. Led by black belt Instructors, John Carlquist and James Gardner who have over 40 years of combined training and teaching experience, Unified Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy’s style of BJJ is based on highly effective self-defense techniques that can be applied in real-world scenarios and in a competition environment.

Kids Program Detail: The Unified Jiu-Jitsu kids program is unique in the fact that every class is supervised by a Pedro Sauer certified Gracie Jiu-Jitsu black belt. Kids learn the fundamental principles of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, using technique and leverage instead of strength. Kids gain confidence, discipline, and respect. Our curriculum teaches them takedowns, escapes, submissions, self-defense and how to fall properly; essentially they become bully-proof. One of the challenges with learning many self-defense styles is in applying them to the real world. It’s often difficult to have confidence when the technique can’t be practiced in a realistic scenario. We provide our children a safe environment with constant opportunities and healthy competitions in which they can apply the techniques learned. Come see our large facility in South Jordan, Utah which is the greater Salt Lake Valley.
