Kids Program Detail: 7-13 years Dragon Kids: emphasis on black belt success cycle. The emphasis of our youth program is on establishing discipline and courtesy while teaching practical self-defense techniques. During all training activities, the safety of children is our main priority. Training at Eastern Academy builds confidence by teaching children self-control and the ability to stand up to negative peer pressure. The movement of the Martial Arts develops coordination and increases strength and flexibility. The awarding of belts gives children a sense of achievement and accomplishment. Training for these tests and passing them enhances a child’s ability to concentrate, plan for, and triumph over learning hurdles. The true value of the Martial Arts is in teaching children how to defend themselves. Unlike many schools that teach techniques designed for tournaments where the objective is to “score a point”, the Eastern Academy will teach your child useful skills designed to help them in actual self-defense situations. The result is a self-confident child who does not need to bully or show off to other children. Finally, Martial Arts at the Eastern Academy is good, clean fun for kids and a productive way to burn off extra energy.
