Details: Griffin Jiu Jitsu Academy carries forward the tradition of leverage, technique and the solid principles of GRACIE JIU JITSU as taught to Master Pedro Sauer by Grandmaster Helio Gracie and Master Rickson Gracie. In our family-friendly Jiu Jitsu academy, we strive to teach each class in a fun and effective manner. Wether it is Ray Griffin or one of our many instructors, our classes are taught with the approval and support of the Pedro Sauer Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association and its time honored curriculum.

Kids Program Detail: GRACIE JIU JITSU, also generically called Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, is a martial art that focuses on leverage and technique to defend against a larger and stronger attacker. As a proud affiliate of the Pedro Sauer Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association, our kids classes follow a similar class schedule to our youth classes but at a pace and level of detail more appropriate to kids. Most classes also include “games” that are fun for kids but also reinforce Jiu Jitsu principles and help them learn how to move, maintain balance, and defend themselves. We also emphasize anti-bullying techniques and strategies to help them address the challenges life may present. These classes are ideal for kids from 4-9yrs old.

Woman Only Program Detail: Griffin Jiu Jitsu Academy is the premier location in Utah for Women Empowerment and Self Defense! Not only are women and young women welcome on our regular GRACIE JIU JITSU classes held weekly, we also host Women’s Empowerment and Self Defense courses at Griffin Jiu Jitsu Academy. These courses focus the key aspects EVERY woman and young woman NEEDS to know. These key aspects include, situational awareness, eye contact, trusting your gut, setting boundaries AND enforcing those boundaries. The self defense techniques taught are based on leverage and are easy to do yet EFFECTIVE against a larger and stronger attacker!
