Head Professor: Jason Doucette

Details: Jason Doucette started training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2000 and received his Black Belt from Doug Esposito under Leo Dalla’s Big Brothers affiliation in 2014. Jason started wrestling in Middle School in 1984, and began coaching youth wrestling for Marsteller middle school coaching them to multiple regional championship titles. He was also a member of the Division One wrestling program at VMI. Jason has trained in Thai Boxing since 2002, which helped prepare him for his entry into mixed martial arts. With competitive experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (to include being a Pan-American silver medalist), MMA, Muay Thai, Wrestling, and Coaching, Jason brings valuable knowledge to his students, for self-defense and those desiring to test themselves in a competitive arena.

Kids Program Detail: Our kids’ curriculum is a true self-defense training experience combining the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Boxing, Judo and Wrestling. To ensure proficiency and safety, our curriculum is designed to include the submissions aspect of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu while limiting the extent of practical application to only during “one on one” supervision. Children are also taught the knowledge and responsibility of when it is appropriate to execute those techniques (self-defense or competition against a knowledgeable opponent) and when to release the techniques. We include fitness and agility exercises to help support a healthy lifestyle and physical attributes for the martial arts.
