Details: Hampton Roads Karate/Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Chesapeake and Norfolk Karate Academy/Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Norfolk have partnered to offer the best in traditional martial arts training and the world's most effective self-defense system to students in Norfolk and Chesapeake. We dual-enroll all students so that they may train at either location for one price. We offer classes for adults and children. We teach Korean karate (soo bahk do) on Monday and Wednesday and Gracie jiu-jitsu on Tuesday and Thursday. Hampton Roads Karate is a certified by the U.S. Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation and Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Chesapeake is Certified Training Center under the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy. Our objective is to develop competent, confident, and complete martial artists who can defend themselves against an attack by a physically superior opponent.

Woman Only Program Detail: We offer the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy's proprietary women's self-defense course through our partner school, Norfolk Karate Academy/Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Norfolk. You can preview the techniques online at Gracie University, gracieuniversity.com, or by purchasing the DVDs from the online Gracie Store at gracieacademy.com. Better yet, train with us for ten days for free. The Women Empowered classes are held in Norfolk on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 PM and on Saturday mornings at 11 AM. The cost is only $60 per month while enrolled exclusively in the course. In this 10-lesson program, we will teach you how to neutralize the 15 most common attacks ranging from hair grabs to being pinned to the ground by a weapon-bearing assailant. Each one-hour Women Empowered lesson addresses two techniques, a ground technique and a standing technique. You can start the program at any time and participate in any class without previous experience. Unlike most self defense systems that rely heavily on strength, speed, coordination, and strikes, the techniques in the Women Empowered program employ leverage, technique and timing, so anyone, regardless of age or athletic ability, can make them work against larger opponents. Once you have completed the Women Empowered program, you may test for promotion to Pink Belt! ONCE YOU EARN YOUR PINK BELT, YOU MAY ATTEND WOMEN EMPOWERED CLASSES FOR FREE FOREVER!
