Kids Program Detail: Children involved with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu are more likely to demonstrate a greater tolerance for stress and frustration and tend to have superior problem solving and adaptive skills. Builds Overall Social Skills by Interaction with Kids of All Ages, Backgrounds and Skill Sets. What can your child expect here at Team Link BJJ Southington, well first off have fun. A normal class runs like this. We start with a warm up, running, jumping jacks, a variety of exercises to get the blood flowing. We then go into our floor drills. The floor drills are isolated Jiu Jitsu movements that we do to create coordination, core strengthening and muscle memory. After this, we continue with our specialized training to create balance, more strengthening, and explosiveness. Once we are through with this we begin our technique. We will demonstrate a technique, then train repetitions of this movement. We teach not just the movement but also how and when to apply it, the strategy behind it. After this we finish class with live training where we use the technique in a simulated sparring situation where the kids are then required to repeat the  technique they learned and others learned out of order and in different situations to help with their long term retention and it's also fun! But remember, discipline is our number 1 word. Kids come here to learn, this is not Disney world! We are not only a martial arts school; here we build champions! Champions on and off the mats, champions in life!
