Gyms Details:
Head Professor: Ryan Kelly
Details: Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a martial art characterized as a combat sport system that is enjoyed by people all over the world. BJJ, as it is fondly referred to, is primarily a specialization in ground fighting, and can include takedowns and throws as matches start from the feet in competition. The basic point in a match, or self-defense situation, is to takedown your opponent and control them until you reach a submission. Jiu jitsu is effective because it places precedence on technique, not strength, at it’s core. This allows for anyone to learn the art and enjoy it! At Northwest Martial Arts, we believe that every student can be capable of learning the art and welcome you to our gym.
