Details: Why train with us? EXPERIENCE - Our coaches and students are some of the most experienced martial artists and combat athletes in the area. FACILITY - We have a large training area with an elevated floor with foam blocks perfect for takedowns and throws. ATMOSPHERE - We welcome new and visiting students regardless of experience or gym affiliation. VARIETY - We offer a variety of classes. There's no need to chose one over the other, with us you can train them all! VALUE - Our memberships and pricing are reasonable. Unlike some other gyms, training with us won't break your bank! LOCATION - We are on Port Royal Rd less than a mile off I-495 at the Braddock Road exit in Springfield.

Kids Program Detail: The Yamasaki Academy is registered with the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF). We follow the ranking guidelines and the class curriculum generally follows the guidelines as defined in the IBJJF rule book for under 16 year old competitors. That being said, we also welcome techniques from other styles including Judo, wrestling and Sambo as long as they are "legal" moves for kids as defined by IBJJF standards. We encourage our students to be as well rounded as possible. Our classes are run by highly experienced BJJ practitioners in a friendly and respectful training environment. All levels of students, from brand new to experienced youth competitors are welcome in the Academy. Most classes will include live sparring in a controlled and monitored environment to allow students to practice and test their techniques in a realistic situation against a resisting opponent.
