From beginners to advanced classes, competition training, private one-on-one classes, self-defense, and of course A LOT of open mat time to put your skills to the test! At Seattle Jiu-Jitsu Academy we believe the best way to get better at Jiu-Jitsu is to show up! So take advantage of our FREE trial class. You will get a chance to participate in class and start learning Jiu-Jitsu right away. No need to worry about gear or equipment, we will have a trial uniform and belt for you when you arrive.

Kids Program Detail: Our Jiu Jitsu classes for younger children, aged 5 to 9, are tailored to introduce them to the fundamental techniques and concepts of Jiu Jitsu. We cover essential elements such as takedowns, passes, and guard positions, integrating these techniques with the movements practiced during warm-ups. Additionally, the classes include listening exercises to enhance the kids' attention and responsiveness. These sessions offer an enjoyable and engaging way for young children to begin their Jiu Jitsu journey, highlighting the pleasure of learning and the importance of basic skills. For our older kids, aged 10 to 15, the classes delve deeper into advanced Jiu Jitsu strategies, competition rules, point-scoring systems, and more. We cover aspects of competition like scoring points and strategic planning, equipping those interested in competitive Jiu Jitsu with the necessary knowledge and skills. These classes are ideal for older children who are eager to deepen their understanding and expertise in a more structured and detailed setting.
