The head coach of the academy is Professor Junior Fernandes, who has been involved in the sport for over 31 years. He purchased Athlas Training Team in Fort Lauderdale in 2012 and founded Athlas Training Team in 2023. Professor Junior Fernandes, married to his wife Ana Fernandes, jointly manages Athlas Training Team with her. They have two athlete children who, together, have amassed numerous titles in the world of jiu-jitsu. Their children were raised within the academy and are already part of the staff.
