Details: The Ashland Jiu Jitsu Academy was founded to establish and promote the culture of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Ashland, Oregon. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art system that focuses on controlling an opponent through grappling and ground fighting. Known as the "gentle art", BJJ emphasizes clinching, takedowns, and submissions. Created by the legendary Gracie family and made famous by the UFC, BJJ has become a staple in military and police combative courses as well as in the protocols of men’s and women’s self-defense courses. Here at the Ashland Jiu Jitsu Academy, we pride ourselves on providing a safe and supportive environment where everyone can learn BJJ. It is our goal to train people in an art that is effective, efficient, playful, and a great workout!
