We are dedicating to preserving the art and integrity of jiu jitsu. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a grappling-based martial art used to control an opponent. With the correct technique, grip and positioning, a smaller person can submit a much larger opponent. You may notice in BJJ matches, competitors are often on the ground. This is due to the fact that controlling an opponent is generally easier on the ground than in standing position. Many of the BJJ techniques are centered around taking an opponent to the ground and being able to wrestle for dominant control. At the Brian Beaury Jiu- Jitsu Academy, students will gain a great understanding of the motions and boundaries of the human body, while getting the workout of a lifetime.
